Her Journey

Realizing There Was Still More to Learn

Hello everyone! I am Adhis, part of the Kopi Cinta team and a sign language interpreter. My role is to help provide access to information between the hearing and Deaf communities, and vice versa.

Before joining Kopi Cinta, the world of disability, especially the Deaf community, was not something completely new to me. I had been involved in the community and learned directly from them for a long time.

However, when I finally joined Kopi Cinta, I realized that I had never truly known the Deaf world as deeply as I thought. There were still many things I needed to understand, including Deaf culture and the different ways of interacting with the community.

Her Role

  • Sign language interpretation
  • Communication access
  • Operational coordination
  • SOP support with the Deaf team

Operations

Working Closely With the Deaf Team

As part of the operational team, Adhis coordinates matters with the Deaf team, especially tasks related to SOP and daily communication.

Along the way, there have been real struggles and obstacles. However, those challenges made her feel more motivated to learn, improve, and understand the community more deeply.

Passion

Where Coffee and Deaf Culture Meet

Adhis has always had an interest in both the coffee world and the Deaf community. So when these two worlds came together in Kopi Cinta, there was no reason for her to refuse.

For her, Kopi Cinta is more than just a workplace. It is a space where learning, communication, coffee, and inclusivity can grow together.

Her Reflection

To Adhis, inclusivity does not belong to only one person, one brand, or one community.

Inclusivity belongs to all of us. If we truly want to make it happen, each of us has to take responsibility and play our part.
