Let’s Sign It! Corner
Where hands speak louder than words — a weekly corner at Car Free Day Malang where people pause, learn, play, and connect through sign language.
A Space to Pause and Connect
Every week at Car Free Day in Malang, we create a small corner in the middle of the crowd.
Not to stand out, but to invite people to pause—even just for a moment— and experience something different.
Through this corner, we share a glimpse into the Deaf world, not through explanation, but through experience.
Some people simply pass by. Some stop out of curiosity. And some choose to stay. That is where it begins.
Learning Comes First
For us, it was never about winning or losing. It has always been about the process.
We invite people to start with the basics—learning the alphabet, simple words, and the first steps of sign language.
At the beginning, it feels unfamiliar. Hands move awkwardly, and gestures feel unsure.
But slowly, almost without realizing it, something shifts. They begin to understand a different way of communicating.
Game with Purpose
After learning, the experience continues through simple games designed not just to be fun, but to carry meaning.
The roulette sets the level of challenge. From there, participants interact directly with our Deaf baristas, trying to read, guess, and understand the signs given.
When they succeed, they move on to the ring toss—a small challenge that requires focus, timing, and a bit of patience.
But more than the game itself, we value the moment when something finally makes sense.
Small Gifts, Bigger CINTA
The small gifts we prepare—stickers, keychains, and other simple merchandise—are never just rewards.
They are a way of appreciating the experience, the effort, and the new perspective someone carries after spending time at our corner.
Through this campaign, we want to share Deaf awareness in a way that feels real and easy to connect with.
CINTA Does Not Always Need to Be Spoken
If one day you find us there, don’t hesitate to stop. You might walk away with something more than just a game.
