Where It Began

Sharing LOVE at CHARIS

During a school orientation event at CHARIS, a local school in Malang, Kopi Cinta began a meaningful step in sharing LOVE with students.

Through this collaboration, a simple booth became a space for curiosity, interaction, and awareness.

The Concept

Order With Sign Language

Through free beverages for all students, Kopi Cinta introduced a Deaf awareness campaign in a simple and approachable way.

The concept was clear: order using sign language, and receive a drink for free.

Learning Support

Visual Guides for Students

To make the activity easier to understand, visual guides were provided so students could learn quickly before ordering.

These guides helped turn the ordering process into something fun, interactive, and memorable.

Natural Interaction

Throughout the process, meaningful moments emerged naturally between Deaf and hearing participants.

Students began interacting with the team, trying sign language, asking questions, and experiencing communication in a new way.

Awareness

Curiosity Became Understanding

From there, students became more curious about the Deaf community— how to communicate, introduce themselves, and learn sign language.

Their curiosity grew from the alphabet to simple everyday words, creating a memorable first step toward understanding.
